St. Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians.  It’s said that as she lay dying, after her captors tried three times to behead her, she sang to herself until Jesus brought her home to heaven. Read more here.
Our St. Cecilia is dressed in a simple pink dress and has a lace veil on her head.
I made her harp from large electrical wire (romex) and duct tape.
My hubby spray painted it with gold spray paint, but I think gold duct tape over top the regular duct tape would be better. After it was dry I added some strings.
This would be a great prop for an angel costume or a David costume, too!
St. Cecilia, pray for us!

  1. I think our own little Cecilia will enjoy dressing in this costume this year – she's a toddler so I've been on the fence about whether to make her a costume or have her go in regular clothes. This is simple enough that I can get it done for her even though I have work to do on the other kids' costumes :)Thank you for the post!
